Maroun Estephan has been with RE/MAX Excellence for nearly 4 years, working with the Excellence team the majority of his real estate career. While home buying and selling definitely something he is passionate about, the most rewarding aspect of being a realtor, for him, is the challenge. A modest businessman, Maroun has been self-employed since 2005 when he started his own limousine company. Today he divides his time between his real estate company, managing his local restaurant J’s Donair in Spruce Grove, and spending time with his two daughters, Elie and Juliana, and his wife Leena.
He learned at an early age that the person who is responsible for his happiness and success is himself and that no one else is going to look after his family. Maroun’s parents immigrated to Canada from Lebanon in 1994, worked hard to build a life for their family, and encouraged Maroun to go to school, where he received a Business Degree from Grant MacEwan. His work experience has evolved from working in construction to driving a cab, to owning a limo company, and now, to owning a donair shop. This evolution has brought Maroun to a level of financial stability that he can really focus on other objectives.
“At this point in my career, my goal is not financial. I would like to manage my time better, and still service my clients at a high level.”Recognizing that his strengths are in conducting research and giving clients as much information as possible to make informed decisions, he is building a network including team members and independent contractors to take care of timely aspects of the business, such as marketing, so that he can focus on his client’s needs. The decision to delegate is one he considers carefully:
“I have to understand every aspect of it so when am hiring a company to do a job, I learn to ask the right questions and make sure they are a fit.”His curiosity and tenaciousness make his an excellent agent because, when you have all the information, making a home purchase or sale decision is easy. Maroun concludes “I tell my clients that in real estate, there is no pressure.”
